I had several ideas for how I would make my first ceramics piece, but ultimately settled on using whimsy, as seen in the bright colors, decorative scalloping and nodules. The limited color palette was accomplished using under glaze. I knew that the color I applied when painting would appear the same after firing. The piece was finished with a clear matte glaze which displayed cracks and imperfections after the second firing, and creates an antique appearance.
